The Dead Sea, also lnown as Sea of Salt is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.
The Dead Sea has the lowest elevation and is the lowest body of water on the surface of Earth. The surface level of the lake was some 1,300 feet (400 metres) below sea level.
Dead Sea is a reserve of a great amount of mineral salts. Dead Sea salt was used by the peoples of Ancient Egypt and it has been utilized in various unguents, skin creams, and soaps since then.
Swimming is almost impossible in the Dead Sea. The salt density in the Dead Sea is so high that you can not get drowned in it!
